Build a link in bio that pays

A real recommendation storefront behind your single Instagram or TikTok link, your products, your promo codes, your commissions.

Back to the “Link in bio: the guide” topic

Step by step

  1. Put your number in international format

Write your number without the leading 0, prefixed by your country code (1 for the US, 44 for the UK, 33 for France), with no spaces, plus sign or symbols: for example 15551234567.

  2. Build the base wa.me link

Paste that number after https://wa.me/, which gives a link like https://wa.me/15551234567. That link opens a chat with you the moment someone taps it.

  3. Add a pre-filled message (optional)

Append ?text= followed by your message with spaces encoded as %20, so the text is already written for the person who clicks. Example: https://wa.me/15551234567?text=Hi%2C%20I%20found%20you%20from%20your%20bio.

  4. Test the link

Open the link from your own phone to confirm it launches a WhatsApp chat with the right number and, if you added one, the right pre-filled message.

Frequently asked questions

Put your number in international format (country code plus your number without the leading 0) after https://wa.me/, for example https://wa.me/15551234567. Add ?text=your+message to pre-fill a message, then always test the link from your phone before you publish it. No app or account is required.

Yes. A wa.me link is completely free to create, you just assemble the URL yourself, and no paid tool or account is needed. Any generator you find online is only auto-filling that same format for you. The page you use to group it with your other links can be free too.

Add ?text= to the end of your wa.me link, followed by your message with spaces replaced by %20 (or a + sign). For example https://wa.me/15551234567?text=Hi%2C%20I%20found%20you%20from%20your%20bio. The person who clicks sees that text already written, ready to send.

Yes. Anyone who taps your wa.me link opens a chat with you straight away, they do not need to save your number first. That is the whole point of the format: one tap, from any phone, into a conversation.

Yes. Paste the wa.me link in the Website field of your Instagram or TikTok profile, or, better, add it to a link-in-bio page so it sits next to your other links and recommendations behind your single bio link.
